I. Summary of Relevant Work Experience
1993-2004
• Worked for UNDP - United Nations Development Program in Botswana,
Africa from 2002 to 2004 as Director and Producer of Talk Back, an interactive
weekly TV program, part of the Teacher Capacity Building - TCB, a project
in partnership with the Botswana Government (Ministry of Education),
ACHAP (Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Merck), Botswana Television
and UNDP.
• As founder and Project's Co-ordinator of AJA, from 1995 to 2002,
planned and implemented social projects, produced educational material,
such as books, educational and documentary videos and websites in the
areas of HIV Aids prevention, social development, human rights, etc.
Prepared proposals and budgets, network with funders, government, U.N.
development agencies and local NGOs. Coordinated professional training
and special education programs for public schools disabled students
and teachers.
• Designed and implemented project’s of distance learning,
including video production for SENAI Departamento Nacional.
• Planned, managed and co-ordinated HIV-Aids prevention program
for deaf persons, including video production and direction, in partnership
with the Ministry of Health and UNESCO.
• In 1998, because of its outstanding work, was selected nationally
to receive the Paulo Freire award in the category of Information Technology
as a Method of Learning, given by the Brazilian Labor Ministry, the
Roberto Marinho Foundation, and the Social Service of Brazilian Industry
(SESI).
• Developed new social tecnologies, such as a job bank for disabled
persons in the Internet, certified by the Fundação Banco
do Brasil in 2001 and selected as finalist among more than 2,600 worldwide
projects by the World Bank presented at the Development Marketplace,
Washington, DC in 2002.
• Was invited by the Brazilian Ministry of Education to collaborate
in writing disciplines on professional education for special needs students.
• Worked as Brazil’s Researcher for the ICBL International
Campaign to Ban Landmines and the Landmine Monitor, Human Rights Watch,
during 1998/2002.
• Director of Digital Mídia, an audio-visual media department
of AJA. Directed, produced and edited institutional and educational
videos. Designed, developed, implemented websites, multimedia DVDs and
CDs. Produced audio-visuals,
