AJA's promotes actions in Brazil and Africa through South-to-South cooperation projects.

AJA´s International Volunteer Work Programs

AJA's volunteers engage in real humanitarian work. They help disadvantaged individuals and groups develop skills to improve their economic situation, give attention to orphans, older adults and children with disabilities, teach English, arts and crafts, work to promote awareness of HIV-Aids and hygiene issues, environmental conservation, computer training, etc.

Objective: Promote free English classes for disadvantaged persons (children, youth, adults)
Rationale: English courses are expensive and not available to poor people in Brazil.

Objective: Promote free English classes, training and planning on sustainable tourism to local community members in Sta. Catarina and Bahia beaches, Brazil.
Rationale: Increase income generation based on sustainable tourism activities.

Objective: Promote awareness and Internet access to disabled persons in Brazil.
Rationale: Increase accessibility of public and governmental websites.

Objective: Promote the use of Brazilian Sign Language and human rights for deaf people.
Rationale: Offer capacity building to deaf persons on human rights and citizenship.

Objective: Promote free education for deaf persons (primary and secondary students) using Brazilian Sign Language interpreters.
Rationale: Special education and interpreters are scarce and/or not available to poor deaf students.

Objective: Promote free English classes for deaf persons (youth and adults) using Brazilian Sign Language interpreters.
Rationale: English courses for the deaf are not easily available, especially for poor deaf persons.

Rationale: Cerrado (bush) is the most endangered biome in Brazil.

Rationale: Offer sustainable education and care of children so mothers may work.

Objective: Our mission is to build an active network of people and organizations in developed countries committed to ending extreme poverty around the world.
